The best advertising for my catering business is word of mouth. I can't afford to advertise with adverts and leaflets. Anytime I am not cooking I am not earning money, so my time out of the kitchen has to be generating future income. Being new to Surrey and self employed meant I lacked a network of acquaintances and business colleagues, providing the word of mouth network I needed to succeed. Joining Ladies at 11 in 2009 has given me invaluable contacts, support and friendship that have tangibly boosted my business. My time is valuable and I have chosen Ladies at 11 to be my only networking group as it fulfils my requirements - a sensible time to meet, well attended groups with the relevant contacts I require, with a professional, business-like yet friendly atmosphere. I have been a member since February 2010 and have always looked forward to going to the meetings where I know I will see friendly faces and potentially create new business leads. Since joining I have met so many inspirational ladies and gained in confidence through the great support network that Ladies at 11 offers. I recently had a great experience of how effective the networking is through Ladies at 11. I received a phone call from a large marketing company who needed a photographer. Within a week of their initial contact I was commissioned to do a shoot for them. They have been very happy with the work and have already said that they will commission me for further projects when they come up.
